Accessibility

How My OCD Clinic collects, uses, and protects your personal and health information as a HIPAA-covered telehealth practice.

Our Commitment

We believe that access to specialized OCD care shouldn’t be limited by a person’s ability to use a website or navigate a video platform. We work to design our digital experience so that patients of all abilities can learn about our services, book an appointment, and attend a telehealth visit with dignity and ease.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as a benchmark for our website’s design and functionality. These guidelines cover areas such as color contrast, keyboard navigation, text alternatives for images, and compatibility with assistive technologies.

Website Accessibility Features

Our website is built with the following in mind:

  • Clear heading structure and logical page order for screen reader navigation
  • Text and background color combinations designed for sufficient contrast
  • Legible typography at a comfortable reading size, with support for browser text resizing
  • Descriptive link text and alternative text for meaningful images
  • Keyboard-navigable menus, forms, and buttons
  • Consistent, predictable layout across all pages

Telehealth Accessibility

Our video platform is designed to be usable directly from a web browser, without requiring patients to download or install a separate app. No account creation is required to join a scheduled visit.

If you need a specific accommodation for your telehealth appointment — such as extra time, a preferred communication method, or support joining the video call — let our team know when you book, and we will do our best to arrange it.

Appointment Accommodations

We want the appointment process itself to be accessible, from intake through follow-up care:

  • Digital intake forms can be completed at your own pace, ahead of your visit
  • Our team can walk through intake information by phone for patients who prefer not to use the online forms
  • Appointment reminders and confirmations are sent by email with clear, plain-language instructions
  • Providers are happy to adjust pacing and communication style to fit a patient’s needs during a session

Assistive Technology

We aim for our website to be compatible with common assistive technologies, including screen readers, screen magnification software, and voice-recognition browsing tools. If you encounter a page or feature that does not work well with the assistive technology you use, please let us know so we can address it.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of our website or telehealth platform may not yet be fully accessible. Third-party tools we rely on for scheduling, video, and billing may have their own accessibility limitations outside our direct control. We are actively working with our technology partners to improve these experiences over time.

Feedback and Reporting Issues

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our website or telehealth services, we want to hear about it. Please contact us with:

  • The page or feature you were trying to use
  • A description of the issue you encountered
  • The device, browser, or assistive technology you were using, if known

We will make reasonable efforts to respond promptly and address accessibility barriers as quickly as possible.

Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As our website and telehealth platform evolve, we will continue to review and improve their accessibility, incorporating feedback from patients and best practices in digital accessibility.
